They've been stranded on Cybertron since the first season, and have been miraculously spared the effects of the storm.  Now they're wandering around, looking for robo-babes and dodging crazy binary-bonded humans.  Will they ever get back to Earth, or forever remain a terribly unimportant in-joke?
