An Interesting Editorial on Republican Russ Darrow
Posted at 10:48:42 on April 27, 2004
The Capital Times has published an interesting editorial (read full article here) criticizing Republican Russ Darrow's recent statements against Senator Russ Feingold:
Russ Darrow is, by most accounts, a good car dealer.

But it was not until he started running for the U.S. Senate that the Milwaukee area millionaire showed his real talent.

Darrow is one hell of a comedian.

He revealed his comic sense during last week's debate among the candidates for the Republican nomination to challenge Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis.

While the other candidates labored to state their serious positions on foreign policy issues, Darrow went for the laughs.

He started out by claiming that Feingold's 2001 vote against the Patriot Act, Attorney General John Ashcroft's attempt to kick the stuffing out of the Constitution, as "really un-American."

Darrow's genius for comedy was clear when he made that statement. Though he is relatively new to Republican politics - only a few months ago he was making substantial contributions to Feingold's re-election campaign - he has to know that some of the most prominent Republicans in Wisconsin and the nation have attacked the Patriot Act for exactly the same reasons as Feingold did.
