Dear lord... the world is ending...

Okay, so I turned on MTV for the first time in a while... and watched a few videos. I have now decided that we've progressed to a point of cultural scary-wily-nilly-wacko-land. First off, I saw a video for a song that I was CONVINCED was a Country song. Avril Lavigne's "Complicated". I swear to god, I hear it at work all the time, and I just figured it was Country... because it sounded country. But... but the video... sigh... The video was really trying to be Punk. I mean *really* trying. *Really* Hard. It's not like a country artist goofing around, pretending to be punk, no... No, these kids were singing a country song, and they *really* thought they were performing some sort of 'mellow punk' song or something... maybe it's trying to be Emo? Apparently now, Emo isn't just crap... it's Country too.

Then, a few songs later... and I get treated to "N.E.R.D.'s" video for 'Rock Star'... and it's .... it's .... Angst Rap? What? Angst Rap? ANGST RAP!?! Dear friggin'... GAH! Dammit! I have so... arrrg.

I'm old. And I use a lot of elipses...
