My god, there is no hope for America...
Posted Feb 16, 2004 - 17:00:17

So, in Astronomy today, I heard what had to be the stupidest statement I have ever heard uttered by a human being.

A human being who posesses a high school diploma, no less.

Yes, this moron was a college student. And the particular phrase was so ridiculous it makes me doubt the very validity of our nation's education system.

The statement was as follows: "But there's air in space, right?"

And now the collective smack of all of my reader's hands hitting their foreheads is causing major echos all throughout parts of North America... which is where most of you are (okay, so Phoenix is an Aussie... but I seriously doubt I have a large amount of readers there besides her...)

Yeah, some girl in my Astronomy class actually said that. And I feel stupider for having heard it.

So, the Wisconsin primary is tomorrow. I'm going to be (most likely) volunteering to help the Dean campaign in the morning to increase visibility. I'm really hoping we do well, so there's at least something to look forward to.

I'm also going to the Feingold meetup this week. I think I'm going to do most of my volunteer work this election year on the Feingold campaign. This is a fight I am not willing to lose. Feingold was the first, and only one of three, politicians I've actually ever ferverently supported. Since he won by such a small margin in 1998, we might have a fight in front of us. The thing about Feingold is, is that he's never disappointed me. He voted against the US PATRIOT Act, for pete's sake.

Go Russ, Go.

Well, John Edwards is in a room speaking directly above my head right now, so I better head out before his crowd flows out of the building... so I guess I'll end my update here.

And start posting on the message board... yeesh.
