So, if you're wondering where I've been, the answer is several places.
First off, Idexx chose not to hire me, making my Milwaukee vs. Eau Claire decision a heck of a lot easier. Thursday, after my second final, I bum rushed my room in a packing frenzy (with some help from the Erika) and I hit the road. As my sister was graduating from The American University's Washington College of Law this last weekend, I didn't get to stay in Milwaukee all that long - my entire immediate family flew out to Washington DC to watch her graduate (along with one of my grandparents, a couple of aunts, and my cousin).
An interesting point: My sister's law school's graduating class had a reception at the Organization of American States (OAS - link) building. Now, you may be saying "What is the OAS Trae?" The OAS is an interstate organization that was founded to further relations between the nations of both North and South America. The OAS is best known for spreading democratic ideals in the Americas, having a human rights court that is largely inneffective, as the United States refuses to join it, and for my trying to write a paper on it, getting frustrated, and my deciding to write about the EU instead.
But the building is very pretty.
Didn't have a whole lot of time for sight seeing, but we did stop by the National Cathedral (as it is only a few blocks from my sister's house -- and no, I didn't rant in Latin like I've always wanted to... but, y'know, I ain't a Sheen), as well as the World War II Memorial, which is quite impressive by the way. I shall be uploading my scant number of photos in a few days so you guys can check them all out later.
I got back to Milwaukee earlier today though, and am looking at the daunting task of unpacking... and finding a job... and not going stir crazy.
Erika is going to be gone for almost the entirety of summer fighting fires in South Dakota, and that honestly sucks ass. I may get a chance to see her this week, as she'll be in Madison doing another thing for the ever-growing-longer process of the Student Regent application, but it looks like I'll be taking the Badger Bus if I want to do it, and I don't know if she'll be able to meet me at the station or not (as I have yet to talk to her today). Geh.
In fact, I'm going to give her a call.
Right now.
