Web browsers... and who is this guy?
Posted May 29, 2005 - 17:47:29

Who is this guy?Today I'll deal with things in the reverse order of the title's inferred priority. So I was checking my refferal logs yesterday night, as I am one to often do, and I noticed a Xanga blog reffering to me that I didn't recognize. I was intrigued.

So I looked, and found this website when the page loaded. A person who has listed this site as one of their "interests" on their blog. I stared at the photo of a seventeen year old for a few moments. Did I know this guy? Have I talked with him? Why is some guy in Tacoma, Washington interested in TRHOnline.com -- a site with the limited drawing power of, well, ME frankly. And while *I* think I'm great, I am scratching my head as to why anyone who has never met me in person would ever agree. I mean, he didn't link to my Shaq Fu area, or Steven Seagal Film Generator - but to the mainpage. Flat out, to the mainpage.

So, John, whoever you are, you're the guy. You've helped spread my gospel of geek, and while I have no idea how you found this site, I'm more than happy to have you read it. *shrug*

Anyways, on to my other topic for this post -- Web Browsers. Now, everyone knows that I'm a huge advocate of the Firefox web browser, but I'm not just going to write about that. What I do want to point out is an article talking about the "new" browser war that's been heating up on XYZ Computing. They talk about the new IE 7 that's finally coming out, along with Netscape 8 and the like. What I want to know -- and the new poll is about this -- is what do you guys use? TRHOnline.com gets a higher non-IE user rate than most sites, with 19% of my traffic coming from Firefox, Safari and Opera. Well, mostly Firefox and Mozilla variants, but I know Befu and Kaje are on their Macs, and if I didn't mention Safari they'd hit me with hammers or something.

If you don't remember the first Browser Wars, here's a piece on the history of Netscape to brush yourself up with. As I am an internet rockstar, the next entry will actually be about my personal life again. *grin*

He also says he's interested in Beast Machines and fanfiction. Not too difficult to figure out.
Yeah, but BMLE hasn't been a focus on the site for years. It's hard for me to think that's the reason.
