And I say good luck to you, Chris.

ChrisSo, this morning at 6:30 AM, Chris Parch - a man who has been like a brother to me - shipped off for basic training. Chris went and joined the Navy you see, and while that's something I could never do myself, I have a world of respect for him for it. So, to you Mr. Parch, I tip my hat. For those of you who may not know who I'm talking about, some of you may know him better as "The guy who usually drives Derek the Sword Guy to No Brand Con."

On Saturday his parents had a going away party for him, which was pretty fun. It started at about 4:00pm, and was your basic "Suburban Backyard Barbeque" that you'd expect it to be. Derek and I were, of course, in attendance. We played croquet several times, and I actually won a few times.

At this point I must pause, and ask "When did Croquet of all games make a comeback?" I mean, Friday night the world was normal, and hardly anyone played Croquet. Saturday though starts off with my mom talking about Croquet making a comeback, and my sister having played it. And then, out of nowhere, at the party, everyone's like "Let's go play Croquet!" A day passes and I miss a yard-game-fad. Yeesh.

Anyways, most people started heading out between 11:00pm and 1:00am, but Derek, Chris and I retreated to Chris's basement where we played some Halo 2 and Worms. We have, for the billionth time, managed to find another way to crash that version of Worms. Talk. About. Buggy. Saddly, it's still fun, so we keep playing it. But we played until about 3:00am, when Derek and I headed out.

So, it was a fitting send off for Mr. Parch, and I wish him nothing but the best of luck in his Naval pursuits... as long as he's not just pursuing his naval.
