Things you didn't know Google did... |

So, we're going in a different direction today - we're going to talk about something other than me. We're going to talk to something close to my heart though - Google.
We all use google, and we all know they do more than just Search - features like Google Maps, GMail, Froogle, Google Toolbar and all the like are fairly well known. Heck, Google Earth is just plain fun.
But have you ever tried Google Moon? I reccomend you zoom in to full on that as well, to get the full understanding of what the moon is made of. It's just the Google Maps program only instead of Earth... it's the MOON. They did it in honor of the Moon Landing, and has been sitting online for a while, but most people haven't noticed it.
There's also the bizarre Google Database, a project which is still in development, which will let you add things to the database if you have a GMail account. Google Database is something that seems very strange to me, but it seems interesting none-the-less.
And did you know that Google makes a Web Accelerator? I didn't. But I understand why - not many people actually use Web Accelerator programs really. Well, that's what I thought until I realized that all of the Dialup ISPs like Earthlink charge extra for something similar - and Google's is free.
Not every Google project survives though, like Wifi.Google.com has bitten the dust. It was an attempt to provide Wifi access in Mountain View, CA - but because demand was too high, they shut the program down.
And sometimes I run across something I just plain forgot Google did - like Google Answers, or Google Scholar. Let's hope Google Print works out too.
I don't know - what's your favorite part of Google?
