Merry F'mas to All!
Posted Dec 14, 2009 - 7:20:07

Merry F'mas, one and all! This last Friday was the annual Otaku Anonymous "F'mas Party." Well, okay, we actually say the whole word, but for the appearances of some sort of dignity, I shall refrain from typing out the currently abbreviated profanity. F'mas is our annual Holiday party where we celebrate the true spirit of the season: Getting "F'ed."

I know I've explained this in years past, but I think I'll do it again just for the heck of it. We celebrate this "spirit" by giving each other gifts that are absolutely terrible.

And yes, Crysta and I really did give someone a 2005 calendar this year.

When I say that people put a lot of thought into these gifts, I don't know if it communicates the depths that people calculate their F'mas presents. The 2005 Calendar for instance is something that Crysta and I have been sitting on... waiting for a year when it would be exactly one day off. Some other people purchased their F'mas presents in May or June.

These are not things that we take lightly.

I don't really attend Otaku Anonymous meetings any more, but there was no way that I was going to miss the F'mas party. Topher came in from the Twin Cities too, so he and I got to feel old together at the event. In the end, I walked away with a couple of bad movies, a dollar store toy gun and sword, and a USB humping dog.

Yes, that USB humping dog.

We tried to watch one of the bad movies, a film entitled for no appropriate reason Chinese Hercules. To explain the apparent quality of the disc and film, the DVD case claims it has a length of "88 Mints." Sadly, the disc errored ten minutes (or should I say mints) in, so we weren't able to fully enjoy it. We instead put on Galaxy Quest and decided to enjoy a good movie.

In the end, a merry F'mas was had by all, and that is the point... I think.

Who cares.
