Three Day Weekends... |

There is nothing better than a three day weekend after a week of working extensive overtime. Last week I had to work ten hour days, and frankly was getting a bit burnt out by it. I think it was the lack of sunlight too - nothing more depressing than finishing work and having it be dark out. It's a problem with this time of year no matter what, but it is amplified whenever I find myself working later than normal. In truth, I look forward to the spring more than ever these days.
Thankfully though, Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a paid company holiday at my company, and I get to relax for one more day. I may have to work overtime again this week, I'm frankly not sure, but at least it will be a shorter week as well.
Sure, all Crysta and I have done this long weekend is watch a bunch of Merlin episodes and catch up on the current season of Top Chef, but just having a chunk of downtime for once after a stressful week is wonderful all on its own.
Tomorrow I'll return to the grindstone though, and I'm not exactly looking forward to it... but as I wish to do exciting things like eat and pay rent, I am afraid it's frankly unavoidable. I've yet to discover how to get someone to just hand me large piles of money for doing nothing, but the instant I do I'll be sure to tell you...
...actually, I probably won't. I'll probably be off driving down the freeway in a new Mustang or something.
In any case, to get back to the point (from which I've meandered quite a distance from), three day weekends spent with my wife are a nice break from the daily grind.
That's about it really.
