How the heck does this evoke so much emotion in me? |

Star Wars. Okay, so I know, talking about Star Wars is old hat for most people, and blah, blah, blah, Lucas has gone crazy, blah, blah, purist, blah, but I honestly don't care. I'm talking about it now, and you can listen or not -- it's really your choice.
I recieved the DVD set of the original trilogy for Christmas, and right now I'm going through the special features and documentaries. Earlier, when I loaded up the trailers, I started watching them, one by one. What amazes me is literally what kind of an emotional response watching them evoked in me. I found myself swept with nostalgia and... well... yeah. Star Wars is more than just a series of movies for me I guess.
And you know what? I don't even mind the changes Lucas has made. Frankly, the only one that's ever truly bothered me is one made only on these DVDs (which is why I *am* going to keep my VHS copies) is the redubbing of Boba Fett. You just don't mess with the Fett, George. That's just not kosher. But unlike many of my fellow fans, Lucas's strange need to completely remake his own films doesn't bother me too much...
...he made three great films, and apparently by accident, but hey -- they're still great films.
Heck, I even - secretly - enjoyed Episode 1 (And yes, I do HATE Jar Jar, and Anakin really was Little Wooden Boy but I liked the film overall).
You may now commence berating me.
As a note, LiveJournal users can now add me to their "friends" list -- as Heather has been so kind as to add me as a syndicated journal. Huttah.
